Why is the location of my trade “unspecified”?
The article explains that in the STX Digital Platform, some trades may appear with the location marked as “unspecified” because some deliveries are linked to registries that can redeem in several countries.
Within the STX Digital Platform, data points marked as “transferred” denote the status of transfer trades, which may only be cancelled by the registry (STX does not have cancellation authority). The total volume of such transferred trades is presented in the overview section of the STX Digital Platform, as shown in the screenshot below.
As STX is not authorized to cancel transfer trades and certain registries operate across multiple jurisdictions, the precise consumption region for some transactions can not be determined. Thus, the “Location covered” field for affected transfer trades will display “Unspecified country.” All such trades with unknown redemption locations are included in the overview section, as illustrated in the screenshot below.
If the registry operates exclusively in one country, the location covered field will be populated with the corresponding country.
